The Police Gala Day.The Police Gala Day was very successful with the weather hot and sunny. This is one of our prestigious events of the year and the main feature has to be the Truck Driving, courtesy of Curries and Star Transport. Where else can the general public go to drive an artic for no more than a donation to the Charity? The Tombola had scores of items to be won. It’s nice to see the kids happy. After all, this is what ECTC is all about. We were kindly loaned the use of a mini digger by M. Lambert. A ball was dangled from the bucket and the winner was the fastest person to place the ball on top of a road cone. This tested the patience of a few.
Thanks are due to Roy Humphrey for the use of a refrigerated trailer. This allowed us to keep drinks cold and burgers fresh. Once again, everything was sold out. The wives of our budding truckers kept the teas and coffees going all day. For the first time this year we had live music supplied by Ken Dalton on a makeshift stage. Very well done to him considering the heat Several smaller stalls helped make the day. These included face painting, manicuring and plenty of photos from previous events. The vintage trucks section joined us this year. If nothing else, they reminded us of how things used to be. I would like to take this opportunity to thank fellow club members, wives and friends for their support. Everything was run superbly and without you this would not have happened. Many Thanks,
